The top 10 players returning to the USF Bulls for the 2020 college football season.
Important to note that this list is based upon last year's data and film from on each specific team as well as judgment based upon the player's position both his skill and the level of talent around him at the said position and influential cohorts. Positional value also plays a large factor in these rankings as does the offensive or defensive scheme.
1. K.J. Sails, CB
2. Nick Roberts, S
3. Donovan Jennings, T
4. Bentlee Sanders, CB
5. Mike Hampton, CB
6. Dwayne Boyles, LB
7. Blake Green, DI
8. Randall St. Felix, WR
9. Demetris Harris, G
10. Jordan McCloud, QB
Honorable Mention: Brad Cecil, C; Johnny Ford, RB; Eddie McDoom, WR; Antonio Grier, LB; Vincent Davis, CB
Sails is every bit of a lockdown cornerback and in the running for not only best AAC CB but best Group of 5 CB and even nationally. He doesn't get targeted a ton and that's just because of how sticky his coverage is. Sails has Power-5 experience behind his time at North Carolina but has found his place at USF. It doesn't matter the receiver nor the route nor the alignment, Sails can stop them all.
Roberts, Sanders, Hampton and all the way down to Davis round out the top secondary in the American Conference as Roberts flies around the field with reckless abandon. Sanders is a talented all-around cornerback while Hampton excels in man coverage.
Boyles and Green occupy the middle of the defense for USF as the former is a tackling machine. If Green can continue to project upwards with his pass-rushing from the interior, he will rocket up the positional rankings.
Then there's the offense. Jennings and Harris are rock solid. St. Felix is as fast as they come and Ford is a home-run threat. If McCloud can continue his development at the position, this team will go far.
