Top 10 Navy Returners in 2020

Updated: May 27

The top 10 players returning to the Navy Midshipmen for the 2020 college football season.

Important to note that this list is based upon last year's data and film from on each specific team as well as judgment based upon the player's position both his skill and the level of talent around him at the said position and influential cohorts. Positional value also plays a large factor in these rankings as does the offensive or defensive scheme.

1. Diego Fagot, LB

2. Jamale Carothers, FB

3. Evan Fochtman, S

4. Peter Nestrowitz, G

5. Billy Honaker, T

6. Nelson Smith, RB

7. Kevin Brennan, BANDIT

8. Cameron Kinley, CB

9. CJ Williams, RB

10. J'arius Warren, DI

Fagot is the Service Academy's finest pass-rusher, yet he hardly blitzes the quarterback. He can time his rushes perfectly as he roams the middle of the field as a spy more often than not. He also has an innate ability in coverage and knows where and when to drop.

This offense will go as far as their new quarterback will take them but their returning stable of backs in Carothers, Smith and Williams should help their new QB adjust easily.

Fochtman and Brennan should once again be up there in terms of tackles while Nestrowitz and Honaker make a formidable guard and tackle combination, respectively.

Malcolm Perry will be damn-near impossible to replace, so 2020 may be a year with some growing pains.
