The top 10 players returning to the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets for the 2020 college football season.
Important to note that this list is based upon last year's data and film from on each specific team as well as judgment based upon the player's position both his skill and the level of talent around him at the said position and influential cohorts. Positional value also plays a large factor in these rankings as does the offensive or defensive scheme.
1. Jordan Mason, RB
2. David Curry, LB
3. Adonicas Sanders, WR
4. Juanyeh Thomas, S
5. Tariq Carpenter, S
6. Jalen Camp, WR
7. Charlie Thomas, LB
8. Kaleb Oliver, CB
9. Tre Swilling, CB
10. Jack DeFoor, G
Honorable Mention: Kelton Dawson, DE; Quez Jackson, LB
Mason doesn't get enough credit around the college football world, but that needs to stop right now. He's a tackle-breaking machine who can stay upright through contact just as easily as he can make you miss in space with a single cut. His ability to maintain his speed through his shiftiness is remarkable. He is the best running back returning to the ACC, not named Travis.
Curry makes all the tackles while the safety duo of Thomas and Carpenter can be a terrific duo but have to watch their lapses in coverage. The real kicker will be Thomas at linebacker because he showed flashes last season that gave breathe to possibly a breakout year in 2020.
Sanders and Camp are in desperate need of some solid quarterback play in Year 2, post the triple-option.
