The top 10 players returning to the Cincinnati Bearcats for the 2020 college football season.
Important to note that this list is based upon last year's data and film from on each specific team as well as judgment based upon the player's position both his skill and the level of talent around him at the said position and influential cohorts. Positional value also plays a large factor in these rankings as does the offensive or defensive scheme.
1. Ahmad Gardner, CB
2. Myjai Sanders, DE
3. Darrick Forrest, S
4. Ja'von Hicks, S
5. Desmond Ridder, QB
6. Malik Vann, DE
7. Michael Pitts, JACK
8. Jarell White, LB
9. Coby Bryant, CB
10. Cam Jefferies, CB
Honorable Mention: James Wiggins, DB; Alec Pierce, WR; Lorenz Mets, T; Darius Harper, T; Curtis Brooks, DI
Ahmad Gardner is a dominant cornerback on the outside for the Bearcats, ripping off three interceptions and nearly 10 more pass breakups without giving up a touchdown in his primary coverage. He's a dominant player in press-man coverage or in off coverage and can make up any lapse with his speed and length at the position.
Sanders was a monster off the edge with a team high in pressures while Forrest and Hicks should round out what could be the conference's best secondary if Jefferies and Bryant play up to expectations.
The season will ride on Ridder as they'll go as he goes and their defense should have no trouble stopping offenses when it counts.
Vann, Pitts and White are tackling machines for their positions while Vann could be set to explode as a featured pass-rusher opposite Sanders.
The wild card here is Wiggins as if he returns to form after his injury that forced him to miss all of last season, this is as dangerous of a secondary as their is in the country on paper.
